Welcome to my website! I’m glad you’re here. My name is Rebecca, and I’m a dedicated online counsellor specialising in helping individuals overcome anxiety and improve their relationships. My journey to becoming a counsellor has been a unique and transformative one, and I’m excited to share it with you.
Before I found my calling in counselling, I built a diverse and successful career in various industries. I started as a Bank Manager, where I honed my skills in leadership, financial management, and client relations. This experience taught me the importance of trust, confidentiality, and empathy—qualities that are crucial in counselling.
I then transitioned to a role as a Station Manager, where I managed operations and teams in a fast-paced environment. This position required me to stay calm under pressure and manage complex situations, skills which are invaluable when supporting clients through their challenges.
My final role before becoming a counsellor was as a Senior Communications Manager. I developed advanced communication skills in this position and learned the power of listening and understanding different perspectives. These abilities are essential in creating a safe and supportive space for my clients.
In 2018, I trained as a counsellor in Sydney, Australia. This training was a turning point in my life and one which had been suggested to me by a Psychologist whom I used to see, who told me it was a calling for me. I also completed the Hermann Brain Psychological Testing which confirmed this. I discovered a passion for helping others navigate their mental health and relationship challenges. My formal education, combined with my diverse professional background, allows me to offer a unique and holistic approach to counselling.
Like many of my clients, I have faced my own struggles. I have experienced anxiety and know firsthand how debilitating it can be. I have also faced significant challenges, including a workplace head injury and a late-in-life diagnosis of being neurodivergent. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of vulnerability and the courage it takes to seek help.
I believe that our vulnerabilities make us stronger and more empathetic. They allow us to connect with others on a deeper level and show us that we are not alone in our struggles. My life journey has taught me that it is possible to thrive despite our challenges, and I am passionate about helping my clients achieve the same.
